Distribution Deal With Bilco Productions!

Distribution Deal With Bilco Productions!

Zombie Media is happy to announce the signing of a distribution deal with Bilco Productions. We are proud to add their quality films to our growing line up.

Bilco Productions is own and operated by Bill and Amy Lancaster. They have created several quality films and are just fantastic people. We are pleased to have them as part of the Zombie Media Family.

In the coming days, we will be preparing Bilco's films for mass distribution. Some of this work is time consuming and various sizes of artwork will need to be created. For those that may not know, many streaming services require various sizes of artwork for a film to be placed on their service. Plus there are many other "hoops" to jump through but we will be on it.

So, what this means is that very soon you will be able to watch these films on numerous streaming platforms.

We were so excited about this new deal that we just had to share it with everyone. There will be more updates coming soon, and maybe a surprise or two.

Until then everyone give Bill and Amy a great big ZMP welcome!

Captions or Subtitles?

Captions or Subtitles?

Today we are taking a look at captions and subtitles. While the two are similar they are not the same. They both appear as text on your film and normally represent the dialogue between characters. Some streaming companies even group the two under one heading, which may lead to even more confusion for anyone trying to understand the difference.

Captions and Subtitles, while similar, both server unique purposes. Here is more information:

- Captions come in open or closed form. Closed captioning can be turned off, while open captioning is embedded directly into the film.

- Captions are very useful to people who are hearing impaired.

- Captions are generally onscreen text in the language being spoken in the film and includes non speech sounds. Captions may appear onscreen that says "intense music" or "birds singing".

- Almost all Streaming services and public television require your film or show to have captioning.

- Subtitles are generally onscreen text in a language the viewer understands when watching a film that has onscreen dialogue in a foreign language.

- Subtitles only includes dialogue.

- Subtitles are commonly used for foreign films.

Now, to simplify it a bit. If you have a film where the characters speak English and you are releasing your film in area where English is the spoken language you will need captions for the film.

Now, if you are releasing that same film in other areas where English is not the spoken language, then you would use subtitles that are in the areas native dialogue. The main purpose of subtitles is to translate the spoken language into the viewers language.

Captions are designed for viewers who cannot hear the audio in the video. Subtitles are designed for viewers who can hear but do not understand the language in the video.

As things change, the two words, caption and subtitles, have become more interchangeable when talking about onscreen text. And you can essentially achieve the same result with either form.

Here at ZMP, we typically translate English captions into different languages to make a film more appealing to a larger audience. This translation is also a service we offer to all filmmakers, for a very low fee, even if we are not your publisher/distributor. Feel free to contact us.

In closing, we hope this short article helps you understand the similarities and differences between Captions and Subtitle.

Have a great day!

Searching For Sasquatch - Watch Now!!

Searching For Sasquatch - Watch Now!!

Zombie Media is proud to present Searching for Sasquatch. The film will be appearing on numerous streaming services in the future but you can rent and watch it now!

Here is a little about the film.

Jason Kenzie ventures into the deep dark forests of British Columbia Canada searching for the legendary creature known as Sasquatch. Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, in Canadian folklore and American folklore, is an ape-like creature that is reported to inhabit the forests of North America.

Supposed evidence of Bigfoot's existence is based on a number of disputed video recordings, audio recordings, photographs, visual sightings, casts of large footprints, etc. Some of these are speculated or known to be hoaxes. Folklorists trace the figure of Bigfoot to a combination of factors and sources, including folklore surrounding the European wild man figure, folk belief among Native Americans and loggers, and a cultural increase in environmental concerns. Within the fringe subculture of cryptozoology, Bigfoot is considered a cryptid, however, the majority of mainstream scientists have historically discounted the existence of Bigfoot, considering it to be a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoax, rather than a living animal.

The film basically tells the life story of  Dominick Calvitto (The Toxic Avenger) and his struggles after the death of his parents. The film has a host of notable names such as; Amber Dawn Fox (The Walking Dead, Beast of the field), Santiago Cirilo (The Walking Dead, Rosa Leigh), Jeremy Ambler (The Town That Dreaded Sundown, Dispatched), Kadrolsha Ona Carole (Toxic Tutu,Silent Times) and many others.

Running Away From The Unknown was also directed by Dominick Calvitto and he will be the first to tell you shooting the graveyard scene, dealing with the death of his parents, was very hard on him.

Here is the synopsis of the film:

Dominick was a bright young man who had just landed the role of skippy in the Toxic Avenger Movie. He was on top of the world and had his whole life in front of him, with nothing but good things in store. But that all changed after the death of his parents. Driven to depression and alcoholism Dominick gets to a point where he has to fight the demons that destroyed his life and future.

This film not only has some notable talent, it also introduces Eugene Johnson as "The Unknown Demons". Johnson also wrote on the film with Calvitto and does a great job playing the antagonist.

Once again we are pleased to have this film, cast and crew in our stables and look forward to what comes next for them all.

While 2020 has been a rough year for everyone, I feel we are closing it out with a Bang!

Thanks for the support!

A Look at Benham Theater Specters of the Stage

Here at Zombie Media we not only want to publish films, books and other items, we also want to market and promote them. Some films, such as Benham Theater:Specters of the Stage, are in house projects that we may have even more insight on. Anything we publish, we also want to promote. We want all involved to succeed and have success and reach the largest audience possible.

Today we want to take a special look at one of our films that we feel is often over looked. Benham Theater: Specters of the stage is not only a paranormal film with some amazing evidence, it is also stuffed full of history that shouldn't be missed.

During the process of creating this film, we had the chance to interview the mayor of the town of Benham, who as a young girl attended many shows at the Benham Theater. The building at one point in its history was closed down and became somewhat dilapidated. But efforts where taken to fully restore the wonderful facility. The mayor, Wanda Humphrey, talks about that process as well as ticket prices back when she was young and about the numerous famous people who appeared at the theater.

We also sit down with  Earl Gothard, who worked at the theater back in it's heydays. He talks about Roy Rogers appearing there and the selling of "cap busters".

During the process of putting the film together, creating artwork and editing. Many things changed and evolved over time.  Here is a look at some early artwork.

And here is yet another rare look at the German version of the final box art artwork.

The paranormal investigation part of the film has some amazing evidence. Thing you will rarely ever see captured on film.

In promoting the film, we also featured a "Watch the first 5 minutes" of the film. Here is that.

Synopsis: The Crypto Files team travels to Benham Kentucky to investigate the beautiful and historic Benham Theater. The theater was a favorite spot for the community for many years. It later sat idle for numerous year until it's renovation. It appears the renovation of the theater has awakened the spirits of the past. As the investigation unfolds the team is amazed and in awe at the evidence they capture.
