To Our Clients, Fans, and Supporters

To Our Clients, Fans, and Supporters

We want to make you aware of a troubling development affecting many independent filmmakers: Tubi has begun removing a significant number of indie titles from its platform. This follows a series of changes initiated by its new CEO over the past year (click here), changes that have already impacted filmmakers and distributors alike, including a sharp reduction in revenue shares. Once a leader in supporting independent creators, Tubi’s payout structure has now dropped to industry averages or below, leaving many in the creative community struggling.

Now, with the removal of numerous independent films, including several distributed by Zombie Media, it’s clear that the platform is shifting away from the very voices that helped build its reputation. While Tubi still offers value and visibility for some creators, the change in direction is noticeable and troubling. Sadly, we’ve seen similar moves before, most notably with Amazon’s pivot away from indie content.

At Zombie Media, we are actively fighting for our filmmakers. We’ve reached out to multiple streaming platforms in search of new opportunities. While most responses have been silent, one platform, despite branding itself as a champion of independent film, replied with a rejection. This only underscores the challenges we face.

But we’re not backing down.

Zombie Media is more than a distributor; we’re a partner in marketing, promotion, and advocacy. We will continue to push forward, seeking new deals and building bridges wherever possible. However, we can’t do it alone. We need every filmmaker, producer, actor, and crew member to help amplify our titles. Share links, post on social media, and help us grow our audience. Every view counts. Every voice matters.

While Tubi may be stepping away from independent film, other platforms are stepping up. Services like Fawsome TV, The Roku Channel, Xumo, Plex, and Stash TV are proving to be more welcoming, and we’re working to expand our presence across these networks.

We anticipated a streaming shake-up years ago, and while this moment is difficult, it’s not the end. Zombie Media remains committed to our clients and their work. We will continue to pitch, promote, and pursue revenue growth because your stories deserve to be seen.

We’ve already made improvements, including the addition of a “Partner with Us” link on our website, making it easier for streaming platforms to connect with us. Our advertising efforts continue across social media and targeted websites.

Yes, this is a challenging time. But hard times don’t last, people do. And Zombie Media will keep fighting, keep building, and keep pushing forward.

Many Zombie Media titles remain available on Tubi, and we still recognize it as a viable platform. However, the shift in direction is noticeable. We remain hopeful that the winds of change will return Tubi to its more indie-friendly roots.

Thank you for standing with us.
